Adblock Help

Using ad blocker software on StockMarketWire

Why can’t I use an ad blocker on Stockmarketwire.com?

Simply, we are not a charity; we are a commercial organisation and want to pay our lovely team of journalists something for all their hard work. StockMarketWire is funded by advertising but ad blockers prevent adverts from appearing on the website. StockMarketWire therefore restricts access to full articles when ad blockers are active.

How do I turn off an ad blocker?

There are different ad blockers available but most allow you to 'whitelist' certain websites. To do this for stockmarketwire.com click on the ad blocker icon – usually located near your browser bar, in your taskbar or in the bottom right corner of your screen – and then select the option to disable or pause the software on the StockMarketWire domain.

For Chrome
To disable the ad blocker:

  1. Click on the ad blocker software icon in the toolbar
  2. From the menu, click the 'Enabled on this site' option
  3. This will change the item to display 'Disabled on this site' Once you have done this you should be able to view our content in full

For Internet Explorer
To disable the ad blocker:

  1. Right click on the browser toolbar at the top of the page
  2. Select ‘Status bar’ so it is enabled
  3. A toolbar will appear at the bottom of the page with an icon displayed for the ad blocker software.
  4. Click on this icon.
  5. From the menu select 'Disable on www.stockmarketwire.com'

For Firefox
To disable the ad blocker:

  1. Click on the ad blocker software icon in the toolbar
  2. From the menu select ‘Disable on www.stockmarketwire.com'

I don't have an ad blocker on but I'm being blocked

While the more popular ad blocker browser plug-ins have the words "ad block" in their name, there are other plug-ins which also block advertising..

Popular examples of these are "Ghostery", "Disconnect" and "Do Not Track Me". Having any of these on your system can trigger our Ad Blocker warning screen as they block our advertising service functionality.

To use stockmarketwire please ensure that stockmarketwire.com is white listed in any of these tools.

I’ve done all that and I still can’t get in
