StockMarketWire.com - Shipping group Goldenport chief financial officer Christos Varsos has resigned and will leave on 6 April to pursue other projects.

Varsos has been CFO and a director osince November 2005 and guided the company in the execution of its IPO in April 2006.

Konstantinos Kabanaros will act as the company's interim CFO.

Kabanaros has 32 years of shipping experience, the last 28 years with Goldenport.

His major focus has been ship-financing and accounting and he is currently an executive director and the company's chief accounting officer.

Goldenport also announced that Captain Epameinondas Logothetis does not intend to stand for re-election as a non-executive director in the coming AGM.

Logothetis has been on the board since 1 November 2007.
