StockMarketWire.com - Goals Soccer Centres has agreed a 144p per share offer from Goliath, a company controlled by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board.

The offer - which values Goals at £73.1m - represents a premium of approximately 34.0% to the closing price of 107.5p on 30 March, the last business day prior to the start of the offer period.

Chairman Sir Rodney Walker said: "The independent directors unanimously recommend the offer by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board at a price which offers a significant cash premium to recent market prices.
