- The unemployment rate in Switzerland rose from 3% to 3.1% between October and November, according to the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.

At the end of November, there were 137,317 unemployed people, 2,517 more than in the previous month.

Compared with November 2016, unemployment fell by 11,911 people, or 8%.

Youth unemployment (15- to 24-year-olds) decreased by 2% to 16,570 month-on-month and 12.4% on an annual basis.

The number of unemployed people aged 50 and over increased by 2.4% in November, but fell 4.2% from a year ago.
