- Gem Diamonds said the fifth-largest diamond ever recovered had been sold on tender in Antwerp for $40m.

The 910 carat gem, unearthed at the Letšeng mine in Lesotho, was named 'The Lesotho Legend', the company said.

'We are delighted with the outcome of the sale of this iconic diamond, which demonstrates the exceptional quality of The Lesotho Legend itself, as well as reaffirming the unique quality of the Letšeng diamond production,' chief executive Clifford Elphick said.
