StockMarketWire.com - Oil and gas producer and explorer Amerisur Resources said it produced 149,030 barrels of oil in May and exported a total volume of 128,169 barrels.

Average daily production in May was 4,807 barrels of oil per day (bopd), with a peak daily output hitting 5,344 bopd.

Average daily throughput was 4,134 barrels of oil (BO) in May, while peak daily throughput hit 5,024 BO.

Platanillo field production - one of company's two producing oil fields - was affected by the ongoing treatment and maintenance programme and reduced production from certain key wells due to 'various causes,' the company said.

John Wardle, CEO, described the continuing cycle of well work as 'frustrating,' but insisted it was expected giving the growing age of the well stock and volumes produced.

Civil works for the Pintadillo-1 road and location in the Putumayo basin continued to advance despite difficult climatic conditions and extensive flooding in the area, the company added.

Spudding of Pintadillo-1 is expected in July 2018.
