StockMarketWire.com - Workspace Group said it had been granted planning consent for a refurbishment of an office building in London and for additional space at another building in the English capital.

The building at 12-13 Greville Street in Farringdon currently comprised 15,000 square feet across two three-storey office buildings, 200 metres from Farringdon station.

The planning consent is was a new five-storey building, providing 23,000 square feet of net lettable space at an estimated cost of £9m.

At The Biscuit Factory in Bermondsey, meanwhile, planning consent was granted for 27,000 square feet of additional commercial space.

That project would create a new cafe and reception and was expected to cost £10m. 'It is great to see these planning consents being granted,' chief executive Jamie Hopkins said.

'The refurbishment projects at Greville Street and The Biscuit Factory will add to our extensive pipeline of activity and allow us to continue to upgrade our properties and further extend our footprint to meet the strong demand for space.'
