StockMarketWire.com - Mineral explorer and developer Kodal Minerals said Friday drilling completed last year had intersected high-grade lithium mineralisation at its Bougoun mine.

Drilling completed in November and December last year intersected multiple mineralised pegmatite veins at the Sogola-Baoule and Boumou prospects.

The drilling results helped company assess its proposed operations parameters and factor in a larger mining operation with 'an initial 1.2Mtpa processing plant, expanding to 1.5Mtpa as the operation moves into steady production phase,' the company said.

Assay results for the Boumou prospect were pending for a further 2,732 samples, which were currently in process of being analysed, it added.

A Mineral Resource estimate update that would include all drilling results to date was on track for delivery at the end of February.

'The drilling programme completed last year at the Sogola-Baoule and Boumou prospects has confirmed the continuity and robustness of the lithium mineralisation at Bougouni,' said Bernard Aylward, CEO of Kodal Minerals.
