StockMarketWire.com - Sound Energy said it was likely to upgrade the estimated size of a recent oil discovery in Morocco.

The company had previously announced a net pay estimate of 10.5 metres at TE-10, the second well in a three-well exploration programme in the Tendrara area.

'Sound Energy's initial, and previously announced, net pay estimates of up to 10.5m are now being revised likely upwards, integrating the wireline data with the on-going analyses of the side wall core,' the company said.

A revised net pay estimate was hoped for in mid-February, it added.

The rig at TE-10 had now been demobilised and was stacked at the rig site on a reduced standby rate, awaiting drilling of the next, and final well, TE-11.
