StockMarketWire.com - Acacia Mining said its North Mara mine in Tanzania had received a letter from authorities allowing for the resumption of gold exports, but also claiming that certain regulations had been previously violated by the company.

The letter from the Mining Commission of the Tanzanian Ministry of Minerals followed an investigation conducted at the mine on 30 and 31 July 2019.

Gold shipments had been suspended pending the investigation.

'Acacia notes that today's letter also states that the Mining Commission believes that certain provisions of the Mining Regulations, 2010 were violated,' Acacia said.

The commission had directed the North Mara mine to submit a feasibility study report and current mine plan for its approval by 16 August.

'The company will provide a further update in due course as appropriate,' Acacia added.
