StockMarketWire.com - Gamma Communications reported a jump in half-yearly profit as revenue increased 15%, driven by ongoing growth in its UK indirect and direct businesses.

For the six months ended 30 June 2019, pretax profit rose 40% to £21.7m from £15.5m as revenue increased 15% to £158.2m.

The number of installed SIP Trunks increased 10% from 856,000 at 31 December 2018 to 938,000 at 30 June 2019, the company said.

The company's connectivity products had continued to perform well.

Broadband increased 10% to 103,000 units from 94,000 units reported at 31 December and Ethernet rose 31% to 11,000; Mobile connections, meanwhile, increased 20% to 60,000.

The number of Horizon (Cloud PBX) users increased 10 % to 478,000 from 435,000, led by the SME segment, Gamma's target market segment.

'In the UK, Gamma will continue to concentrate efforts and investment on strengthening our relationship and capabilities to support the channel to be successful, while ensuring that in the UK Direct business, we continue to focus on growth and building on an already strong reputation for operational excellence and service quality,' the company said.

'We will also continue to identify businesses in Western Europe where we believe their growth can be enhanced by Gamma's know-how and product set,' it added.
