StockMarketWire.com - Cloud video-editing platform provider Blackbird posted a first-half loss, as rising revenue was more than offset by higher operating costs.

Pre-tax losses for the six months through June amounted to £1.19m, compared to losses of £1.27m on-year.

Revenue rose 27% to £0.48m.

'The overriding theme for Blackbird in 2019 is momentum,' chief executive Ian McDonough said.

McDonough said a renewed strategy on sports and news had gained traction, with the company booking record revenues and doubling its deferred revenue and contracted order book since 31 December.
