StockMarketWire.com - Compagnie de Saint-Gobain's mortars division continues to expand in fast-growing countries with acquisitions in Slovenia, Albania and Brazil.

Saint-Gobain says Weber has strengthened its presence in Slovenia through the acquisition of the activities of Demit, a company specialising in ETICS mortars based in Lasko. Saint-Gobain says acquisition adds a strong base to serve regional market demand for external thermal insulation systems.

In Albania, Weber has also acquired the activities of Italcol, a mortars manufacturer based in Tirana, and specialised in tile adhesives and technical mortars. Saint-Gobain says this transaction allows Weber to gain an industrial foothold in the East Adriatic region and strengthens its ability to meet local and regional demand for technical and innovative products.

Weber Quarzolit, Saint-Gobain's mortars division in Brazil, has strengthened its presence in the country thanks to the acquisition of Jaspe Argamassas Ltda, a manufacturing company specialising in tile adhesives based in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul in the Central-West region of the country. Weber Quartzolit will benefit from Jaspe Argamassas Ltda's local industrial infrastructure in pursuing its development going forward.

Saint-Gobain said these transactions are in line with its strategy to increase the share of its industrial assets located outside Western Europe.
