StockMarketWire.com - US durable goods orders fell 3.7% in January to $239.7bn, according to the US Census Bureau.

The fall was worse than market expectations of a 2.4% decline.

The decrease, down following two consecutive monthly increases, followed a 2.6% increase in December.

Core durable goods orders, which exclude transportation, fell 0.3%, compared to market expectations of a 0.4% rise.
