StockMarketWire.com - Instrumentation and controls company Spectris said its Brüel & Kjær Sound & Vibration and HBM divisions would merge from the start of 2019.

The new combined company, which would still sit in the test and management segment of Specrtis, would be called HBK.

Spectris didn't disclose a cost estimate for the merger.

'By leveraging their respective strengths, we aim to create a business with the capabilities, breadth and scale to deliver differentiated customer value, for example, in the domains of propulsion, durability, safety and noise, vibration and harshness,' the company said.

A new management team had been selected and would be in place from 1 July 2018.
