StockMarketWire.com - Animal pharmaceuticals group Animalcare said its annual profit fell sharply after rising revenue was offset by write-downs and costs associated with its acquisition of Ecuphar.

Pre-tax profit slumped to £544k, down from £5.1m a year earlier.

Revenue rose 22% to £83.7m, while underlying operating profit rose by 15% to £7.8m.

The company declared a total dividend since the acquisition of 6.7p per share.
