- Daily Mirror publisher Reach said it welcomed a UK government decision to no longer pursue an investigation into its proposed £127m acquisition of Northern & Shell publishing assets.

Northern & Shell publishes the Daily Express, another popular British tabloid newspaper.

Earlier on Wednesday, UK culture secretary Matt Hancock said he accepted separate findings by the Competition and Markets Authority and Ofcom that the deal wouldn't substantially lessen competition or raise plularity of view concerns.
