- Salt Lake Potash said it had received regulatory approval to conduct certain technical works at its Williamson pit at Lake Way in Australia.

Approval was granted by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for a pond system to de-water the pit.

The Williamson pit had a measured resource of 1.26 gigalitres of brine at an average sulphate-of-potash grade of 25 grams per cubic metre.

The Williamson ponds would be the first operational scale sulphate-of-potash evaporation ponds built on a salt lake in Australia, which the company said was an important part of the development at Lake Way and across the Goldfields Salt Lakes project.
