- Oil services company Petrofac said a consortium it is leading had won a $4bn contract for a refinery project in Thailand.

Petrofac's share of the contract value was around $1.4bn with the rest split between partners Saipem and Samsung Engineering.

The Thai Oil Public Company's project would transform an existing oil refinery in Sriracha, Chonburi, into an 'environmentally-friendly' facility producing higher quality transportation fuels.

It would also increase the facility's production capacity from 275,000 barrels per day to 400,000 barrels per day.

The work encompassed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services.
