StockMarketWire.com - Sirius Minerals said it had tweaked a contract with Strabag to include the engineering, procurement and construction of the fit-out of the mineral transport system for its proposed fertilizer project in Yorkshire.

Sirius had previously hired Strabag to only handle the tunnelling contract for the system.

The fit-out scope included the conveyor, maintenance railway, electrical and communications infrastructure and all other services in the tunnel.

The price of the fit-out was in line with the company's capital re-estimate announced on 6 September, Sirius said.

The company added that it had now completed its procurement for the major construction packages related to a 'stage 2' senior debt financing process, which represented 'a significant milestone' for the project.

The company was still targeting financial close of stage 2 financing in the first quarter of 2019.
