- Anglo American said Friday it had resumed operations at its Minas-Rio iron ore operation in Brazil.

The restart of the integrated iron ore operation followed a technical inspection of a 529km pipeline that carried the iron ore in slurry form from the mine to the port, the company said.

The pipeline's integrity was confirmed by specialist pipeline inspection devices, and expert teams, the company added.

'The extensive analysis confirmed the sound condition of the pipeline and we have taken a number of preventative measures to provide additional reassurance for the long term,' said Mark Cutifani, Chief Executive of Anglo American.
