- QinetiQ said it had won a competition for the US Army's common robotic system-individual program.

The seven-year contract for the delivery of small ground robots was valued at up to $164m.

It included an initial production phase worth around $20m over one-to-two years, followed by a series of annual production releases.

The company's US unit had been awarded a $4m initial order as part of the first phase.

The robot was designed to be back-packable and was equipped with advanced sensors and mission modules. Its capabilities would support a variety of payloads and missions to detect, identify, and counter hazards.
