- Oriole Resources said soil sampling results indicated a continuous gold anomalism at its Wapouze gold project in Cameroon.

Soil sampling results were received for 2,119 samples, with peak assay of 0.54 grams per tonne of gold.

'This first phase soils programme by Oriole has been successful in defining continuous gold anomalism in wide corridors over a cumulative strike length of approximately 13km in the northern portion Wapouze,' chief executive Tim Livesey said.

It had also identified new anomalies in the south, or Bidzar.

'Each of these independent corridor zones of gold in-soils anomalism has the scale and potential to host significant mineralisation,' he added.

'It further supports our position that these licences at Bibemi and Wapouze have the capacity to host a brand-new gold district.'
