StockMarketWire.com - Uranium stockpiler Yellow Cake said it had taken delivery of around 1.2m pounds of uranium from NAC Kazatomprom.

Yellow Cake had on 12 April exercised an option under a framework agreement with Kazatomprom to acquire the uranium at a price of $25.88 per pound.

On 31 May, the U3O8 was delivered and transferred to Yellow Cake at Cameco's Port Hope / Blind River facility in Ontario, Canada, where the material would be held in storage.

The total cost of the U3O8 purchase amountd to $30.4m and would settled from the company's cash balances.
