StockMarketWire.com - Russia-focused Volga Gas said it produced less oil and gas in May due to Gazprom pipeline maintenance.

Production for the month averaged 4,221 barrels of oil equivalent, down 14% from April.

'The decline in production was due to Gazprom pipeline maintenance which resulted in lower gas processing capacity during the month,' Volga Gas said.

Capacity had started to gradually resume to normal levels from 1 June, it added.

Drilling of the Uzen 4 horizontal sidetrack well, meanwhile, was completed on 1 May.

'Initial flow testing resulted in gas and oil production with well testing and hydro-dynamic measurements on-going during June,' Volga Gas said.
