- Oil and gas explorer JKX Oil & Gas has announced details of payments made to governments in the Ukraine and Hungary, where it operates.

Last year the UK company paid £23.9m to Ukraine authorities, most of it made up of production (£19.8m) and corporation taxes (£3.9m) as part of its ongoing production schedule. An extra £165,000 was signed-off on infrastructure projects.

These figures dwarf the relatively modest £279,000 paid in Hungary, where it runs a far smaller operation.
