- Budget carrier Ryanair confirmed that a key union for pilots had called off a serious of strikes that had been planned over the coming weeks.

The British Airline Pilots Association had on Friday morning called off all planned strikes, scheduled for 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 September, Ryanair said.

The airline said it welcomed the move and had invited the union to resume talks next week.
