- Telecom giant BT said it would introduce new services and increase numbers of technical support staff as part of its transformation strategy.

The company said it would launch a new converged product that would offer broadband and mobile services, called Halo.

It would also create a team of 900 tech experts that would help customers in their homes, while returning all call centres back to the UK and Ireland faster than originally planned.

BT also affirmed that it was planning to bring full fibre to 4m premises by March 2021, with an ambition to reach 15m by the mid-2020's.

'We're starting a journey today with real changes that will have a positive impact for people and businesses,' chief executive Philip Jansen said.
