- Aspiring fertilizer producer Sirius Minerals said it had entered into an exclusive ten-year supply and distribution agreement with Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company, known as Muntajat.

The pact was for the sale and distribution of volumes of POLY4 into Africa, Australia, New Zealand and certain remaining Middle-Eastern and Asian territories.

Sirius is developing a flagship potash project in Yorkshire. The development, however, is currently hobbled by a shortage of financing.

Chief executive Chris Fraser said the new supply agreement with Muntajat further underpinned large-scale market appetite for POLY4 and lifted the company's aggregate peak sales volumes to 13.8m tonnes per annum.
