- Materials group Haydale said it had received two separate orders from US and Japanese cutting tool manufacturers worth $0.7m and $0.6m respectively, to deliver ceramic blank units. This US order came after the company delivered a trial order of 33,000 ceramic blank units to the US cutting tool manufacturer.

Haydale Ceramic Technologies also received a commitment in principle from a Japanese cutting tool manufacturer which would launch in April 2020. This commitment was for 145,000 blanks units with a value of approximately $0.6m.

Following extensive customer trials, and with commercial production commenced, the company said it was expecting ceramic blank units sales to grow.
