- Solo Oil said it had not been made aware of drilling and budget plans advanced by Aminex, its partner in the Ruvuma venture in Tanzania.

Aminex said in a recent announcement that the venture's 2020 work programmes and budgets had been submitted to the Tanzanian government for approval.

They included a $40mm programme for the drilling of the Chikumbi-1 well and the acquisition of extensive 3D and 2D seismic surveys over the Mtwara licence.

The plans also involved the fast-tracking of select Chikumbi-1 pre-drilling activities.

Solo Oil said it should have been notified and consulted about the moves pursuant to the terms of joint operating agreements in place between Aminex.

'The company remains committed to having a positive working relationship with Aminex and will seek to further understand in short order the background to its actions,' it added.
