- Disease and allergy test kit provider Omega Diagnostics said that it had CE-Marked its first allergy screening assay to be run on an automated instrument.

The assay used a mix of five different single allergens and was the first mix in a planned programme to develop a range of mixes to meet market needs.

Screening assays, which contained multiple allergens, were a useful tool in helping to efficiently diagnose the causes of patient allergies.

Chief executive Colin King said said the mix was the first of five required to enhance the company's allergy panel.

'We will continue to focus our efforts to bring the remaining assays to the market, which will allow us to be more commercially competitive,' King said.
