StockMarketWire.com - Savannah Resources said authorities in Mozambique had awarded a mining licence related to its Mutamba mineral sands joint venture with Rio Tinto.

Licence 9735C was issued for covering 11,948 hectares and was valid to April 2044, with the possibility of an additional 25-year extension.

Chief executive David Archer said the company was looking forward to the issue of the remaining two mining licences for project, 9229CC and 9228C.
