StockMarketWire.com - Anglo Asian Mining's [LON:AAZ] shares rose after reporting a significant growth for its flagship Gedabek mine in Azerbaijan in 2015.

Gold production for Q4 totalled 17,930 ounces with 12,996 ounces from the agitation leaching plant, 4,593 ounces from heap leach operations, 6 ounces from SART processing and 335 ounces from flotation (Q3 2015: total 18,164 ounces).

Copper production for Q4 2015 totalled 335 tonnes, 205 tonnes from SART processing and 130 tonnes from flotation (Q3 2015: 216 tonnes).

Silver production for Q4 2015 totalled 17,710 ounces with 1,373 ounces from the agitation leaching plant, 485 ounces from heap leaching operations, 6,589 ounces from SART processing and 9,263 ounces from flotation (Q3 2015: total 4,439 ounces).

Coal of Africa Limited [LON:CZA] has been granted an integrated water use licence for its Makhado project by the Department of Water and Sanitation for a period of 20 years. CoAL completed a Class II Definitive Feasibility Study on the Makhado project during 2013 and anticipates developing the colliery to produce 2.3 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of hard coking coal and a further 3.2 Mtpa of thermal coal over the life of mine.

Tests confirmed that the coal can be successfully beneficiated to produce high strength coke for the steel manufacturing industry. Chief executive David Brown said: "The granting of the IWUL for the Makhado Project is a significant milestone for CoAL, and is a further step towards bringing the Makhado Project into production. It further signifies government's commitment to and support of our flagship project, and its potential to foster socio economic transformation not only for the communities in our area of operation, but also for the Limpopo Province. "We continue to focus on our funding requirements in order to commence construction activities in H2 2016."
