StockMarketWire.com - Renewable fuels group Velocys said it had secured a site for its UK waste-to-jet-fuel project, being developed in collaboration with British Airways and Shell.

The 80-acre site was near Immingham in North East Lincolnshire and had already been earmarked for industrial development.

A formal planning application process for the project was expected to start in 2019.

A Velocys subsidiary had also entered into an option agreement to acquire the company that owns the site, Rula Developments, for up to three years.
