StockMarketWire.com - Petra Diamonds reported a fall in third-quarter production, though it left its output guidance for the year unchanged.

The company produced 924,228 carats in the three months through march, down 6.9% from the 992,315 carats produced on-year.

The fall reflected lower production at the Finsch mine in South Africa.

Production guidance for the full year was kept at 3.8m-to-4.0m carats.

Third-quarter revenue fell 7% to $135.2m, due to a 6% reduction in sales volumes to 1,061,343 carats sold.

Rough diamond prices achieved during two tenders in the third quarter were up around 1% on a like-for-like basis compared to prices achieved in the first half of the 2019 financial year.
