StockMarketWire.com - Colefax Group, which designs and distributes furnishing fabrics and wallpapers, posted an 11% rise in interim profits.

However, the group said current trading conditions in the US are not as strong as they were at the start of the financial year.

It added it therefore remains 'cautious about future growth prospects.'

For the six months to October 31st 2005, the group recorded a pretax profit of £2.01m compared to £1.82m a year earlier on sales of £32.19m, up 2%.

The interim dividend is 1.38p, up 3%.
