StockMarketWire.com - Northumbrian Water says it expects revenue to be flat for the year to end March 2010 but is confident of delivering a 'sound financial performance'.

In its IMS for the period from April 1, the group says water and sewerage charges have increased by 3% in line with the November 2008 Retail Price Index. Non-household revenue continues to be affected by the economic downturn.

Total revenue for 2009/10 is expected to be broadly the same as 2008/09. Otherwise, trading has been in line with expectations.

At today's AGM the group is proposing a final dividend of 8.50p per share, giving a total up 6% at 12.79p.

Interim results will be released on November 23.
