Smith will have full responsibility for the activities and performance of the division and the MDs of the five business units within technical services. Smith is a commercial law graduate who began his career in the traditional marine market before transferring his skills to the energy sector. Formerly the head of Braemar's adjusting unit Smith has been involved in exploration, construction and operational projects across the globe for over 20 years and has a proven track record of developing talent, building teams and delivering the highest service standards. Geoff Jones succeeds Smith as the head of Braemar's adjusting business. Jones joined Braemar adjusting two years ago, having spent 33 years in the marine and energy insurance industry, dealing with high profile claims throughout that time including Piper Alpha, Bombay High North and Macondo.

Jones is a former member of the influential Joint Rig Committee and currently sits as a member of the organising committee for the Lillehammer Energy Claims Conference. He has proven management and industry credentials and is fully deserving of global responsibility for our Adjusting business unit.
