StockMarketWire.com - Haydale Graphene Industries has received notice that its patent application for the United States has been granted.
Haydale said that as with patents in other territories, this grant related to a key process underlying the company's proprietary functionalisation treatment for graphene and other nano particulates, a critical step for the commercialisation of these materials.
The US patent terminates in 2032, being 21 years from the date of the application.
Chief executive Ray Gibbs said: 'I am extremely pleased that we have been granted our US patent for both graphene and other nanomaterials.
'This means that our plasma process is now protected by patents in our key markets of the US, UK, Europe, Japan, China and Australia.
'This latest award is extremely well timed as we execute our development strategy in the US, expanding our existing silicon carbide business to encompass graphene and other nanomaterials.'
