- Ophir Energy said it and partners had been awarded two exploration blocks off the coast of Mexico.

Block 10 and Block 12 were part of the Mexico offshore bid round 2.4. Both were located in the Ridges basin, which Ophir said featured a proven hydrocarbon system and material prospectivity.

The licence awards were subject to final approval from Mexican authorities.

The Block 10 partnership was comprised of operator Repsol, Petronas and Ophir, which had a 20% interest.

The Block 12 partnership includes operator Petronas , PTTEP and Ophir, again with a 20% interest.
