- Biomass-based renewable energy group Active Energy posted a deeper annual loss following a poor performance and asset sales at its Ukrainian wood fibre business.

Net losses for the year through March amounted to $14.3m, compared to $2.4m of red ink in 2016.

'The withdrawal from the Ukrainian business and the associated losses are, of course, unfortunate,' Active Energy said.

'However, the timely exit from this business has enabled Active Energy to limit its exposure to further liabilities, as well as re-calibrating the risk profile of the group.'

At 3:05pm: [LON:AEG] Active Energy Group share price was -0.52p at 3.4p
