StockMarketWire.com - AIM-listed and Sydney-based technology group Seeing Machines said its driver monitoring systems had now travelled more than a billion kilometres.

Since its launch in 2016, the company said its Guardian product has been used in commercial trucks and buses and detected over 3.6m fatigue and distraction-related driver events.

'The 1.3b km of data we have gathered since launching Guardian underpins our clear market leadership in the development and deployment of effective driver monitoring systems that demonstrably enhance transport safety across a range of verticals,' chief executive Ken Kroeger said.

'In addition to the positive impact Guardian has on driver safety, the data collected has provided Seeing Machines with a robust machine learning platform and has played an integral role in the development of our driver monitoring engine.'
