- Rockfire Resources said recent soil sampling at the Cardigan Dam prospect at the Lighthouse tenement in Australia's Queensland state had returned a promising gold-in-soil anomaly.

Two broad gold-in-soil anomalous trends were detected, with each about 400 metres by 100 metres wide.

Soil results came in at up to 205 parts per billion of gold, while 14% of soil samples had results above 20 parts per billion.

'Rockfire's strategy of systematic, cost-effective and rapid appraisal of each of its prospects has resulted in the definition of a distinct gold-in-soil anomaly at the Cardigan Dam prospect,' chief executive David Price said.

'The gold values, up to 0.2ppm of gold, represent strong anomalism and provide a clear target for further investigation.'
