- Defence contractor Cobham noted that the UK government was 'minded to accept' conditions offered up by takeover suitor Advent to gain approval for the £4bn deal.

Shareholders had approved the takeover in September, though the government had expressed national security concerns.

On Tuesday, business secretary Andrea Leadsom said the government would consider undertakings taken by Advent to address its concerns.

'The secretary of state has today announced that she is minded to accept undertakings offered by the acquiring company to address the concerns identified,' Cobham said.
